Relief Insert® Walker 2.0 | Lower leg foot orthosis | Positioning splint and walker in one

In 2017, DARCO developed an innovative alternative to all conventional walkers, the modular Relief Insert® Walker. DARCO has completely revised and reissued this according to customer wishes. The result is the new Relief Insert® Walker 2.0.

The removable Relief Dual® Plus sectoral off-loading shoe with high ankle support turns the Walker into a positioning orthosis. In addition to the Relief Insert® Walker 2.0, there is another version of the walker, the Relief Insert® Walker 2.0 Achilles – a lower leg foot orthosis as well as a foot-positioning orthosis with Achilles tendon relief. This version of the walker includes the DAW (DARCO Achilles Wedges) heel wedges, with which the angle of plantar flexion can be individually adjusted.

The positioning orthosis of the Relief Insert® Walker 2.0 can be used in bed for the usual postoperative acute foot prophylaxis. It is easy to put on and has a soft liner that can be easily adjusted to the patient via an integrated pump system. For wound checks, dressing changes or X-ray examinations, the positioning splint of the Relief Insert® Walker 2.0 can be removed with a flick of the wrist. The liner can be machine-washed at 60°C.

As soon as mobilisation begins, the patient stands with the positioning splint in the Relief Dual® Plus sectoral off-loading shoe with high ankle support – and is thus directly equipped with a walker alternative. If necessary, the shoe can be taken off at any time. The patient can directly lie down on the couch or in bed, free of road dirt – and the foot remains cared for.
